![]() There is a file named "modinfo.txt" containing all the necessary info for the game to pick up and properly display the mod. Just like the in-game thumbnail above, it should accurately describe the mod's contents and it should look like this: png image named "steamthumbnail.png" that will appear in the steam workshop. png image named "thumbnail.png" that will appear in-game in the mod manager, summing up the contents of the mod, looking like this:Ī 512x512. There are 4 important elements in the mod folderĪ 180x80. Make sure the name is customized so it doesn't overwrite other mods with the same name. The contents of the mod should be contained into a folder named acordingly. You get a full list of the mods you are subscribed to, including a thumbnail, description and author. There is also a "Mod Manager" in the main menu of the game from which you can enable and disable mods easily. Tldr: limit your bandwidth in steam to 50mbps and see if that works for you too.Steam > SteamApps > common > Move or Die > Mods > If so this would likely mean that either Steam or my ISP is intentionally stopping these downloads because they are taking up too much bandwidth at once.Īs a side, I have also noticed this behaviour is more likely to happen if it is a download that i know is being downloaded by many people at once, say a major update to a popular game or a new game release. Please someone let me know if this behaviour is reproducible on your system. If i get to 400mbps+ it is really bad, it will shut off maybe before 5 seconds of downloading. If I ramp up from 0 to 100mbps+ within around 30 seconds or less, then give it anywhere between 5 and 60 seconds of downloading and the download will stop (either suddenly or progressively over some seconds). If I use a VPN in my city (Toronto) and still use the same steam server download location (Toronto), which naturally slows down my download speeds to around 20mbps, it gives me continuous download I have pushed up to 80mbps and it has worked except a handful of times. If i limit my download speed in steam while still using my closest server (Toronto) to around 50mbps, the download is continuous and never stops. I have tried both ethernet cat6 and wifi 6. But, in the same settings window at the bottom, clicking "clear download cache" has worked for me.Īfter some testing on my end, it seems that changing download server location only works for me because the distance does not create large jumps in download speed. I changed mine to Frankfurt, Germany and my download is no longer starting and stopping.ĮDIT 2: /u/SonicBlue22 with an update if changing the DL region doesn't work:ĩ year old post but I'd like to add changing the region didn't work for me. Apparently changing your download region to somewhere else in the US wasn't good enough. ![]() Thanks in advance.ĮDIT: Thanks to /u/thetorsoboy for finding a fix. I'm just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem/knows of a good fix for me. Every game I have tried to download has given me this issue. This isn't just certain games doing it either. (the content ID is the number at the end of the workshop mod URL). Not very long of a pause in download but enough to make the download go extremely slow.Īnd verifying the game cache on the games. And so far, the most promising result I had was using 'workshopdownloaditem 107410 453577279' where 107410 is the AppID for Arma 3 on steam and 453577279 is the workshop content ID of some random arma 3 mod/addon. Basically, any game I try to download will start and stop in rather quick succession. So this started a little over a week ago and I've tried everything I can think of/googled so far.
